FRIED WONTONS “FRENCH CONNECTION”

- 2 CUPS OF MISHA’S FRENCH CONNECTION CHEESE
- 2 TSP SOY SAUCE
- 2 TSP SUGAR
- 1 SMALL BUNCH CILANTRO STEMS MINCED
- 2 GREEN ONIONS, SLICED THIN
- 2 GARLIC CLOVES, MINCED
- 1 TSP GINGER, MINCED
- 2 PKGS WONTON WRAPPERS
- CANOLA OIL (FOR FRYING)
- SWEET AND SOUR OR SWEET CHILI SAUCE (FOR DIPPING)
In a small bowl add the cream cheese, green onions, garlic powder, and salt and beat until creamy.
Lay a wonton wrapper on a non-stick surface. Place a small bowl of water on your wonton folding surface. With your finger, wet the edges of the wonton wrapper. Add about 1 1/2 teaspoons of filling in the center of each wrapper.
Bring up corners and pinch together all sides of the wonton, creating a star and seal tightly.
In a medium sized saucepan, add 1/2 inch of oil. Heat to medium high heat. Add the wontons to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy (2-3 minutes).
Remove with a slotted spoon and set on a paper towel lined tray.
